I am a Pediatrician based in Connecticut. I moved from Florida to pursue my family dream of living in the beautiful NorthEast where I had previously shared so many wonderful memories with my wife during medical school. I guess that the NE offered the right combination of people, nature, cities, and peace I’ve always strived for. I am a nature enthusiast and outdoor person. I love hiking, biking, camping, building stuff, gardening, fishing, etc.

I was born and raised in Venezuela and I am proud to describe myself as a proud American for the past 20 years. I met my wife shortly after I moved to the US and together we attended college at the University of Florida, Medical School in the northeast, got married, had 2 wonderful girls, and built a career in healthcare. She went on to pursue her own career goal in alternative medicine and I continued on to become a pediatrician. I switched from my lifelong goal of becoming a trauma surgeon to a pediatrician simply because I loved it. I was so happy during my med school rotations that it was a no-brainer for me. Pediatrics offered me the opportunity to be a child, be genuine, and share moments with children of all ages. Most importantly it offered me the opportunity to practice true preventive or proactive medicine for the child and also the family. I started seeing medicine more as a wellness-promoting profession instead of a disease treating skill set and pediatrics is perfectly placed in the healthcare world to be able to offer that.

So, I’ve been a practicing Medical Doctor specialized in Pediatrics for close to 10 years. I provide care for children from birth into early adulthood. I’ve made my career choices deliberately to expand my knowledge and expertise to become what I consider a well-rounded pediatrician. I’ve practiced in a wide array of settings including hospital-based (ER, hospital floors, Nursery, NICU, transport) and outpatient medicine (office-based), urban and rural, private and academics, as well as multiple administrative roles. This has given me wings to expand and grow as a doctor and to evolve my practice into a more modern practice able to care for a new generation of parents and children.

I use approaches and techniques that are evidence-based, up-to-date, and integrative. I use our state-of-the-art technology, services, and robust pediatric network to provide the best - team-based & patient-centered care. My special interests are Early childhood Development and Nutrition and these permeate heavily into my practice.

I am certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a member of the Society for Developmental Pediatrics. I completed my undergraduate studies in Microbiology and Cell Science as well as Chemistry at the University of Florida with honorary awards. I attended New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey, and moved back to Florida to complete my pediatric training at Miami Children's Hospital (now Nicklaus Children Hospital) an internationally recognized and awarded Pediatric Institution. I’ve been a contributor to the media with TV appearances and radio interviews as well as a guest speaker and writer for magazines and conferences. But I guess one of my greatest joys in medicine is teaching the next generation of doctors. I am lucky and quite proud to be part of the Yale University faculty team where I can realize this dream.
